Scholarships
Seniors are encouraged to apply for any and all scholarships of which they meet eligibility requirements. There are national, state, county and local scholarships available for seniors to research and apply. University/College scholarships are available also once the student has applied and been accepted. They can be found on the university/college website usually under the financial aid tab.
The national scholarships can be found on scholarship websites such as http://www.fastweb.com" www.fastweb.com or http:// www.collegeXpress.com, www.studentscholarshipsearch.com http://www.studentscholarshipsearch.com. These websites will require a student to register. This will add them to a list for information to be sent by email and mail. A student should never pay for a scholarship search. If money is required to inquire, obtain or apply for the scholarship, do NOT comply.
Seniors will be notified of state, county and local scholarships that are available through the guidance office. They will receive an email as well as have the opportunity to check the Drexel school website on which the updated list is posted. Some scholarship applications will be completed online through the organization’s website. Others will be a paper copy that can be obtained by making a request to the counselor. All of the scholarships applications should be completed before the deadline date. They should appear professional by looking neat and accurate, following all requirements stated on the application.
