Weekly Classroom Spotlight

Mrs. Richmond's Pre-School Classes

On October 9, preschool had the opportunity to learn about Fire Safety at the Drexel Fire Department from Fire Captain Sheryl Green and Firefighters Zach Packingham and Anthony Juarez. The morning class walked to the fire station and investigated the different fire trucks, tried on the fire gear (pants, coat, boots, helmet, mask, gloves), watched the firefighters race to dress in their gear, spray the water hose at an orange cone, and learn some important information about how to stay safe in case of a fire.  Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate for the walk for the afternoon class, so the fire department came to our class and brought the fire truck, water hose and gear with them.  This was a very exciting and fun learning opportunity for the preschool classes that they will remember for years to come.  Also, a big thank you to the Drexel Fire Department, Fire Captain Sheryl Green, Firefighter Zach Packingham, and Firefighter Anthony Juarez for volunteering their time to teach our kids about Fire Safety.  I have heard some say they now want to be a Firefighter when they grow up!
