K-3 Distance Learning Information

Dear Drexel Families,
We hope you have found some fun time together this past week in the midst of everything that is going on in the world. We wanted to give you spring break to process, be with your loved ones, and be safe together. Over the break K-3 teachers have been conversing about what is it that our young students and families need from us to move forward these next few weeks. As some of us have our own children at home, we understand and are empathetic to time, scheduling, and motivation. Therefore, we want to keep it as simple as possible. There is some GOOD NEWS here. Most of us have taught the core of instruction by this time in the year and we tend to leave the easier stuff for the end. So 4th quarter would have been proceeding on with skills learned to meet mastery, or introducing simpler concepts to the students. Our main goal will be to continue on with practice as much as your own schedule will allow.
Our plan is to continue on with our Wonders reading through their website. Then also offer some alternative options. Each teacher will contact you specifically through their own avenue of communication they use for their class. We will check-in also with you each week on progress and to see if you have any questions. Your own teacher will reach out this week with the list that they are asking you to do and with student login information if needed.

Please remember, we are here for you and willing to provide any assistance we can to help you through this. We miss our kids and hope to be back with them real soon, but until then keep staying safe and enjoy your time together. In the end, we want this to be a positive time and for you to be as stress-free through this as you possibly can.
