JH Volleyball wins WEMO Championship

The Drexel Lady Cats JH volleyball team won the Championship last Saturday at the Conference Tournament in Archie! The girls worked hard each and every day and brought their best effort to practice. Their hard work began in the off season this summer when several of the girls attended summer strength and conditioning, open gym, and camps. The girls set a goal at the beginning of the season to win the championship at the conference tournament, and that goal was achieved!! It was a tough tournament and the Lady Cats had to fight hard in both pool play and bracket play. We went 7-1 in pool play and 4-2 in bracket play. The semi-final game was against Jasper who came out and beat us the first set, but we fought back and won the second and third sets. The Championship match was Drexel versus Adrian. We came out strong and ready to play the first set and beat them pretty significantly. During the second set, we made a lot of errors and ended up falling short. In the third set, we ended up fighting hard, fixing our mistakes, and winning the match. These girls have worked their tails off this season. Their attitude and effort have been phenomenal!
